Beams
Connecting
the hulls are 3 aluminium beams. The forward beam which
takes the forestay is 152 mm diametre by 3.25 mm wall
thickness. The main beam on which the mast is stepped
and the aft beam which takes the mainsheet traveler are
both 203 mm diametre by 3 mm wall thickness.
The beams are strategically reinforced with sleeves for
the seagull and dolphin striker wires and for the mast
step.
Running
fore and aft between the 3 beams are two 80 x 3 aluminium
tubes that apart from dividing the nets and tramps into
smaller areas also reinforce the whole structure.
